i usually put little effort in blogging. sign of old age i think or just a busy schedule. but here's to attempting to doing better!
so Mel's hen's night. we were going back and forth for the theme. cause firstly, we weren't sure what colours Mel actually likes. if i were to take a wild guess, maybe blue? so we were initially toying with the idea of breakfast at tiffany's with tiffany blue, LBD, pearls, gloves, the lil tiara. very much inspired by the following:
but isya accidentally send a picture of the proposed theme to the wrong group chat. le oops. which turned out to be a good thing after all. anyway, in the end, we decided to go with vomit of colours! can't remember exactly why. probably cause one of the colours has to be what Mel likes, right? Cheryll wanted to personalise Mel's sash that says "He put a Ling on it". as i type this out, i'm not sure how Mel feels about sharing her personal stories. ah well, i'll stick more to the hen's night itself.
the sash has a story by itself. it was definitely more exciting and funny when Cheryll told it. so this is the watered down version. since i was in Mid Valley that night, i went to buy cheap satin clothe from Kamdar and dropped it off at Cheryll's house. unfortunately, i bought it too short! 1m seems long okay cause i always imagine Mel being very tiny hehe. so poor Cheryll had to cut the cloth diagonally. she then tried to iron it but the cheap cloth kinda melted a lil. Cheryll sent me progress of the sash and it was looking really good. little did we know, the next morning, the glitter didn't stick cause the glue wasn't sticky enough. i helped to fix it as Cheryll scrambled to pack and get ready. i swear, there was glitter EVERYWHERE! all over the floor, my clothes, Cheryll's face, it was as if a glitter bomb exploded and we were caught in the middle of it. anyway, the pretty sash was no longer very pretty :( but it's the thought that counts right? but here it is looking deceivingly pretty.
so anyway, we met up at e@curve for Escape Room! and for breakfast, we had a quick bite of nuggets and fries. yum yum!
the theme of our bajus was vomit of colours.
we went for the Mystery Room and it was adequately hard. we didn't manage to get out but we were really really close. so close to the point where the moment we came out, we asked whether they had another available slot cause we were getting the hang of it. but they didn't.
ah well. losers, we are.
then it was off to our home for the night. that place was seriously empty.and directions were horrible. took us a while to figure out where to park and where to go. and me and Cheryll did something horrible. well, depends on how you choose to look at things.
since we had so much luggage to carry between the 2 of us, we kinda "borrowed" the trolley we found. you know those luggage trolley. since we were so lazy to push the trolley back down and we would so totally need to use it again when we leave, we kinda pushed the trolley into our room. he he he. :S in our defence, we pushed it back to exactly where we found it the next day.
cause it took me and Cheryll so long just to check in and get settled in, Mel and Jean arrived shortly after we did and we had to keep Mel in the room in order for us to get prepped with room deco and food stuff. ohhhhh, we were going to learn how to cook Aglio Olio from chef Cheryll. and since we were cooking, we of course would need a chef's hat! since we couldn't manage to find a real hat, we obviously had to make it ourselves. and so, the second activity of the day was to Make Your Own Chef's Hat wtf.
this was my trial run in office. i decided that it would be better if we actually cut around the hat. more 3D, you know?
but it's adorable no? hhahahaha. damn cheapo these friends of Mel.
and thus, we begin to Watch Cheryll Cook. we had salad, aglio olio, drinks, and garlic bread with vineger and balsamic sauce. i helped chop garlic! but the most of the time, i mostly just watched and snacked on whatever food available hehe.
look at Mel adorably fake cooking in her apron, hat and sash.
if only that was all to cooking. put on a cute hat, apron, stand around and BAM food gets cooked.
anyway, voila, we have a meal fit for a bride-to-be to learn for her husband-to-be!! lol.
only can see the pasta on the table cause we already finish eating the salad and toast bread before the pasta was even ready.
but this was how it looked like.
it was really, really good. coming from a girl who doesn't like her vege says alot.
another one with chef Cheryll in it!
i love the banner i made. so colorful! wasn't kidding about the vomit of colors theme.
after lunch, we played a lil game i stole off the internet called "What's In Your Purse?". it was a close one until the 12 and 25 point item which consisted of "Picture of Yourself" and "Picture of the Bride". since Mel had the polaroid from our Escape Room, she won it all. pfft.
next up, we played this game Cheryll brought called Partini. it's team/group type game and it was surprisingly really fun! we played all the way till dinner time.
oh in between games, we did a little gift exchange. not gift exchange per se but we gave each other all our outstanding stuff i.e. Mel's wedding card, souvenirs from Jean from all over the world and i gave them their new year's present. a Tai-tai Calender. so that Jean will never forget us!! like that would ever happen. but you know, you never know these things.
and then it was time to get ready for dinner at Ciao.
look at my pretty friends! so matchy2 somemore.
at dinner, Mel bumped into her friends who were also having a Hen's Night and guess what their theme was. Breakfast at Tiffany's! say what? what are the odds, huh.
after dinner, we went back to our room and ushered Mel into another room for our final surprise. we wanted to Re-enact the Tangled Scene. you know the one with all the lanterns? in case you don't know/don't remember, here's the picture.
and in case you didn't notice, i edited the picture a little lol.
Cheryll got a 100 candles from Ikea. or was it 200? and we put it all over the room and lit them up. was abit worried of burning the room down.
as Mel walked in, or rather out of the bedroom, we had her eyes closed and played the Tangled song. and surprise!!!!! actually, she was already in her pajamas but obviously, one has to change for pictures!
hello Mel and KLCC Twin Towers.
and hello Us!
we ended the night with watching Piranhaconda. not kidding, that is seriously a movie. i fell asleep halfway through cause it was some really bad B-grade acting kind of movie. amazingly, Mel stayed up for the whole movie. no surprise, everyone died!!!
if you ever think of watching a B-grade type of animal killing movie, watch Piranha and Piranha 3DD. i mean your IQ would probably slowly drop and die a horrible death, but i find it hilarious!!!!
anyway, the end of Mel's Hen's Night.
the next morning, we woke up for Jean's Farewell Party!!!
actually, we had a Japanese cooking class planned but the place screwed up our booking and we had to adjust. in the end, we had to ask Jean what she wanted to do cause we were kinda stumped. in the end, Jean chose to have erm... Sunday Roast @ Ritz Carlton. couldn't remember what it was called, i actually googled "roast lamb hotel kuala lumpur weekend" hahaha.
our last meal together :(
and of course, we each need to take a picture with Jean.
and that's all i've got.
Au Revoir Jean. come back soon!!!!
Jean's banner abit the cacat cause i made it while in the carpack of Mid Valley cause i was stuck in the jam for more than an hour. thought that counts right??
ok, the end of blog post.
